Description
This kit consists of three tools — Problematising the Problem; the Power Map and Spheres of Control worksheet; and the Intersectional Elaborations activity. It can be used when kicking off an intersectional project, campaign, policy or strategy.
The first tool, Problematising the Problem, summarises Carol Bacchi’s work to help you ask the right questions to uncover assumptions, implicit bias and hidden power dynamics.
The second tool helps you to map stakeholders in the project or sector, either using a power/support quadrant model or a concentric circles model to map influence and control. Both models are accompanied by instructions and suggestions for deepening the tool’s impact.
The third tool demonstrates the steps in applying Ralph Vacca’s intersectional strategies to surface intersectional structures at play in your scenario, and start creating solutions that respond to them.
